Who You Are:

For a small production crew; in the absence of a Director of Photography, we're searching for a multifaceted Camera Operator & Gaffer who is ready to take on a critical role in our Carlton/Collingwood-based team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about engaging visual storytelling, has a keen eye for detail, and is capable of wearing multiple hats in a small production setting. 

Your Role and Skills:

• Versatile Camera Work: Operate camera equipment both fixed and handheld to capture compelling video content, ensuring each shot contributes to the narrative and visual goals of the project.
• Lighting Mastery: Take charge of lighting, designing setups that effectively convey the mood and style of our videos, enhancing both the aesthetic and emotional impact.
• Creative Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to brainstorm and implement visual strategies that align with the project's objectives.
• Technical Savvy: Maintain and manage camera and lighting gear, troubleshooting any issues to keep the production running smoothly.
• Efficient Workflow: Coordinate setups and breakdowns efficiently, keeping pace with the production schedule and meeting deadlines.
• Commitment to Quality: Embrace Spawnpoint Media’s high standards, ensuring every piece of content is visually stunning and technically flawless.
• Understanding of YouTube: Be aware and able to execute on the styles and trends of YouTube camera work, and lighting that is core to this platform and other social media videos.
  

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in camera operation and lighting, with a portfolio or reel to showcase your work.
• A solid understanding of cinematography and lighting techniques, adaptable to a variety of settings and styles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a small production team.
• Proficiency in handling a wide range of camera and lighting equipment including: Sony FX Cameras, Timecode equipment, Aputure Lighting products, ATOMOS monitoring, gimbals, wireless video transmission and rigging.
• Creative and proactive in solving technical and artistic challenges.
• An interest in gaming (especially Minecraft), social media or entertainment.
